Worthing Regatta--- 2004
First of our teams races were the Junior Pair of Steve Callar and
Greg Duke. At this stage still Novices!
Mark King boldly ploughed through the course in the
Junior Sculls.
Also sculling was Captain Bob Salmon.
Paul Knight and Ian Smith represented the club in the
Senior Pairs. Unfortunately Ian pulled a back muscle and had to stop. He
recovered well later to take his position in the Senior IV's.
A fantastic row in the Senior IV's produced a 4th
position. Congratulations to Paul Knight, Roger Roberts, Mark King and stroke
Ian Smith who were pushed on by cox Fiona Knight. It was even more surprising
as Roger is still a novice and they have never rowed together before!.
Our Ladies pair of Ella and Kathy had to struggle
with rougher seas which upset their stride. However they were confident that
they can go much faster with more practice in rougher waters.
