Hastings Rowing Club- Homepage
For half the day this seemed an inspired decision as, believe it or not, the SUN shone ! ... and at Shoreham regatta? surely proof, if proof was needed that global warming is a reality.
It was actually enjoyable on the beach. I can remember 30 years ago when Shoreham was just a deserted undeveloped piece of shingle and now look at it today!
First race off was the newly designated J16's Quad sculls. It was a pity that only Deal and Worthing had crews however I can announce that Hastings will be lauching a Quad scull before the next regatta!

Worthing Crew above reminding us all that rowing is supposed to be a FUN sport!!!

However on the day Deal proved an easy winner. Well done to everyone concerned in getting J16's off.

The new Captain of Dover Mr Nick Bailey battles it out in the Senior Sculls!

Our very own Superhero Mr Mark King couldn't count to IV and so finished V and did not qualify for the finals.!! V V

Captain Bob Salmon though found rough water even on the second race of the day. Ominous!

Our Hastings Ladies consisted of Ella, Vicky, Eveline and Lucy were coxed by Fiona.

They quickly got into their stride but the Ladies IV race had some very good crews in it and proved a very hard fought final.

Deal A eventually were comfortable winners.

..with Shoreham second.

However Our Girls stormed to a very credible 3rd place. Well done!!
