Hastings & St. Leonards Rowing Club

Herne Bay Regatta 2004

We mustn't forget it was Father's day and Mr Steve Barnard was supported by his eldest daughter Libby who was down from Uni at Birmingham. Mr Ian Smith models the latest 1930's style fashion in hats.

Keeping on the fashion front Mr Paul Heskett, ever the fashion guru, was showing the very latest style to emerge from Bexhill. Right on.

Meanwhile back at the rowing the Ladies Junior IV of Ella, Kathy, Stephanie, Vicky and cox Fiona had an excellent race to finish 3rd collecting valuable points for the club.

Hastings finest hour !!!.
Our Senior IV come 1st in the narrowest of victories over Deal.
Now everyone is looking forward to Bexhill regatta!!!

Yes it was that close!

The crew were Paul Knight, Roger Roberts, Mark King and Ian Smith with supercox Mark Edgar.
The amazing thing is that Roger "Wayne" Roberts is a Novice and so has jumped up over Junior's and Junior Seniors to become a full Senior1!!

Mr Roger Roberts in full celebration mode at Herne Bay Club House!!!

The Junior Senior IV of Ben Muggridge, Greg Duke, George Cullingford, Steve Callar and Cox Fiona fought well to a very creditable 4th place. More points for the day.

We were represented in the Senior Pairs by Ian Smith and Paul Knight.

The last race of the day was the difficult double scull event in which Captain Bob Salmon rowed with Vicky Kidd. A good try in choppy waters.

One of the Club's finest days rowing for some years!!!!!
