Herne Bay Regatta 2004
A Senior IV Win !!!!
On a cold and rainy day at Herne Bay on June 20th Hastings at last
had a lot to shout about. A 3rd, a 2nd and a fantastic Senior IV win.
The Ladies Novice IV crew of Ella, Kathy, Stephanie, Mandy and cox
Fiona kicked off the exciting day and were looking good til Ella's seat
developed a problem!

Next off was Mark King in the Junior Sculls heat 1.
He was heading for the Final when 50 yards before the finish his wrist went.
Hard luck Mark. Pictured below Mark is seen surging past the
opposition.

By now it was beginning to get really quite cold. Mr
Greg Duke's paramour is beginning to wish she had stayed in the warmth of
Edinburgh rather than zoom down South to see her man in action! Wot some people
will do for love!!

And now for the first points of the day with our
Junior IV of Mr Steve Callar, George Cullingford, Greg Duke, Ben Muggridge and
Cox Fiona Knight getting a terrific 2nd position!. There was an objection but
after Chemical analysis the "sausage" Mr Roger Roberts and others were seen
eating before the race was declared unfit for human consumption however it did
not contravene doping regulations. Porton Down admitted last night.
Caught on camera below is Mr George Cullingford
offering the "sausage" to other members of the Crew and any passing young
ladies.

Next off was Captain Bob Salmon in the lonely job of
sculling. He got off to an excellent start.
