Hastings & St. Leonards Rowing Club

Grand Sponsored Ergo Competition

Saturday 27th August 2005

Over thirty people took part to raise quite a lot of money for our new racing IV which we hope to order next year.

The idea was to row from 11am to 11pm and get everyone to cough up £20 for two 10 minute slots. Or not row and come up with more!!

(If anyone wants copies of the pictures please ask me and I can email the full pic rather than the low res pix done here for the web)

So a big thanks to Colin Chatfield for the idea and organizing it.
Ably assisted by the lovely Julie!.

The day was kicked of at 11am by our Patron Jane Amstad who not only rowed for 10 minutes, completed a kilometer, spoke to many passers by and raised over £200. Thanks Jane from us all!.

Our first rower was Captain Bob Salmon who showed how easy rowing for 10 minutes is!

Colin's mum Betty Chatfield was next off and had obviously done some training!!

Zena, Julie and Pauline are suitably impressed when a local bobby they know whips out his pda and says
" Here's a picture of my other helmet. Its much bigger!"

Don't ask me!!
It was only 11:30. I went and joined Dick at the bar!

They don't call her "Sweaty Betty" for nothing!
"There that wasn't too bad was it"
Well done Mum!

Next was Emma Golding. Note shes clearly distracted by a strange smell!
"Oh my God!! Wot is that in my pizza!!!!
cries Danielle Salmon
"I hope I don't get the blame!" thinks Tillie
