Eastbourne Regatta Continued

The Ladies Squad had a changed crew from the Junior IV for the Novice IV's with Vicky Kidd taking the place of Kathy Roper.

Battling in the huge field of the Novice IV's were Eastbourne ( N Cook, A Platt, D Currie and J Child) just leading from Folkestone ( K Woodsford, G Campbell, G Chandler and H Chilvers).

The Senior IV of Paul Knight, Roger Roberts, Mark King, Ian Smith and cox Emily were left a length at the start while still manouvreing but by the dans had made up the difference.

Nearing the finish they were up with the leaders.

However once again Deal won with Hastings 3rd.

Mr Roger Roberts demonstrates
to a young admiring audience the correct
method of removing excess wind before an
important race.

Our Man Mark fought in the very competitive Junior Scull's Final.

Sculling is always a lonely business.

The agony as Mark is just pipped at the post into a wonderful 2nd place.

Looking as fresh as a daisy!. er actually 'cos he looks so shattered after the race Mark posed for the cameras before he went afloat!

Vicky and Ella bemoan the time it takes for men to get a boat ashore!!

Our Senior Pair of Paul Knight and Ian Smith are well up with the pack.

Almost on the finish line it is neck and neck between No3 Herne Bay's R Hosking and D Ingram with Bexhill's Mitchell brothers.

Well done our Ian and Paul.
