It must have been the hottest day of any regatta in living memory!
Of course your intrepid photographer is suffering from increasing memory loss
so maybe it was hotter last week, either way only mad dogs and rowers went out
in the afternoon sun.
By the time I arrived due to massive traffic heading into Eastbourne
plus desperate attempts not to have to pay £4.50 to park my car our
Senior IV had got into the final as well as Mark King in the Junior sculls.
So the first seen was of our Ladies Junior IV
pictured here with the Marina of Hastings in the distance.
The strong Folkestone crew of S Watkins, I Smith, V
Wera and L Potter are in no 2 position while our girls drew the outside
berth.
With Cox Fiona urging them on Mandy Hawker , Steph
Warren, Kathy Roper and Ella Muggridge also had to put up with a tsunami from a
passing boat!
...and to cap it all at the dans the crew had to
avoid being shat upon by a passing seagull!!
Steph is pleased to meet mum and dad on the beach. Hello to
Kate and Phil.
Next off were the Junior IV of Ben, Steve, George,
Greg and Fiona.
Cries of "eyes-in-the-boat!" and "balance!" could be
heard from the beach!!!
However they got it all together and made a good try
in the Final.
The Ladies Senior pairs was convincingly won by
Shoreham.
