Deal Regatta Saturday July 31st
A day to be forgotten!!!
The weather was wonderful with bright blue skies and no wind.
However poor Deal had problems keeping their dans in place and after 1 hour of
attempts abandoned 2 sets of dans and just used 1.
Our Junior IV's first race was re-rowed. At the dans
there was a melee between several clubs.
The re-row had Bexhill off to a fine start. ps we're
at the back no 9.
Eventually our crew of Ben Muggridge, Steve Callar,
George Cullingford, Greg Duke and cox Fiona came 4th just pipping Herne
Bay.
In the Ladies IV race Folkestone put in a fine effort
to win.
with Dover coming second.
Our Ladies Ella, Mandy, Steph and Vicky with cox
Fiona couldn't quite lift the pace to keep up with the front runners but came a
creditable 4th.
Still with the Ladies the Dover Senior IV storm to
victory.
Battling for 2nd and 3rd places were the 2 Folkestone
crews.
