Race11 Championship Ladies Coxed IV's
Hopes were high for Our Ladies in this race. Ella and Lucy decline to drink alcohol before the big event!
Unfortunately the Ladies struggle with the river boat which some have never rowed in before. They get a poor start and never quite get it flowing again. Exeter are the winners.
Coast rivals Shoreham come in second.
Southsea 3rd.
Like several crews not in the lead the Hastings crew were partially impeded by wash from the Umpires boat.
Despondently Our Ladies start the long row back.
However Life goes on. Later Vicky and Lucy plan for 2007.

This being the 50th anniversary of the South Coast Championships a special gathering of golden oldies was assembled..
As our Karen said on the mike
" In those days boats were made of wood,
men were made of steel
then along came women and wanted it in plastic!"

Vintage Coast crew from Bexhill. Two members rowed in the 1st 1957 regatta!!!
